April Dawson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with over 25 years of experience in primary care and family medicine. A lifelong resident of the Cumberland, Maryland area, April has dedicated her career to serving the health needs of the Allegany County community she calls home.
April earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a nationally accredited nursing program and holds national board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Maryland.
Her clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of primary care — from well-child visits and school physicals to complex chronic disease management for adult and geriatric patients. April is known for her thorough, unhurried approach to patient care and her ability to explain complex medical information in clear, understandable terms.
Outside the clinic, April is an active member of the Cumberland community and is passionate about health education, preventive medicine, and reducing healthcare disparities in rural western Maryland.
